The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Medicine and ED Frailty Intervention Team at Cork University Hospital. This permanent, whole-time position offers a vital opportunity to provide advanced therapeutic interventions and support patient recovery in an acute hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services within Acute Medicine and the Emergency Department Frailty Intervention Team.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment programs for patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate early intervention and discharge planning.
• Provide professional guidance and support to junior staff and students.
• Maintain clinical records and ensure compliance with HSE policies and standards.
• Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy (CORU registration required).
• Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience, with at least two in an acute care or geriatric setting.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This is a permanent, wholetime role governed by the HSE Consolidated Pay Scales effective 1 August 2025.
Salary scale: Occupational Therapist, Senior (Grade Code 3301) – €60,221 to €70,816 per annum, with standard public sector benefits including pension entitlements, incremental progression, and leave in accordance with Department of Health circulars.
