The Health Service Executive (HSE) South West is inviting applications for the position of Senior Occupational Therapist (Stroke and Oncology) at Cork University Hospital. This post offers an opportunity to work within a large multidisciplinary hospital setting providing high-quality care to patients with complex rehabilitation and oncology needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialised occupational therapy assessments and interventions for stroke and oncology patients.
• Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Contribute to discharge planning and community reintegration.
• Supervise and mentor junior occupational therapy staff and students.
• Participate in service development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).
• Current CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience, with at least one in a relevant clinical area.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience in acute hospital settings, particularly within stroke or oncology services, is desirable.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade Code 3301) is in line with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 August 2025, ranging approximately from €59,478 to €70,628 per annum, with Long Service Increments (LSIs) applicable as per HSE pay policy.
• Contract type: Permanent Part-Time / Permanent Wholetime.
