The Health Service Executive (HSE) invites applications for the position of Consultant Cardiologist at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin North. This is a permanent, whole-time post within the HSE Dublin and North East Health Region, offering an opportunity to lead cardiology services in one of Ireland’s foremost tertiary hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-level cardiology care to patients at Beaumont Hospital and affiliated facilities.
• Lead diagnostic, interventional, and clinical cardiology services in line with national HSE standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous service improvement.
• Supervise, train, and support Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs) and allied health professionals.
• Engage in clinical governance, research, and audit activities to maintain excellence in patient outcomes.
• Participate in on-call duties as part of the consultant cardiology roster.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered or eligible for registration on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland.
• Fellowship in Cardiology or equivalent specialist qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in interventional or non-invasive cardiology at consultant level.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Consultant Cardiologist (Code 1244)
• Salary Scale (effective 1 August 2025): €230,000–€280,000 per annum, per HSE consolidated consultant salary scales.
• Contract: Permanent, Wholetime
• Pension: Public Service Pension Scheme
• Leave: As per HSE Consultant Contract 2008 (and subsequent amendments).
• Working hours: 37 hours per week with participation in on-call rota.
