The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, candidate (cANP) to join the Enhanced Recovery in Acute Mental Health Services team in Donegal. This permanent wholetime role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse to advance into an ANP pathway while contributing to high-quality, recovery-focused care. The successful candidate will support clinical leadership, service improvement, and specialist mental health interventions.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver advanced clinical mental health nursing interventions aligned with ANP scope of practice
• Support Enhanced Recovery practices across acute mental health settings
• Lead on clinical assessments, care planning, and therapeutic engagement
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and service development initiatives
• Uphold HSE standards in patient safety, documentation, and care quality
• Participate in education, mentoring, and professional development activities
• Engage in research-informed practice and continuous improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered psychiatric nurse with current NMBI registration
• Eligibility and ambition to progress through the cANP pathway
• Minimum relevant postgraduate qualification (or working toward same)
• Strong clinical experience in acute mental health services
• Demonstrated ability to provide autonomous, evidence-based practice
• Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making abilities
• Understanding of Enhanced Recovery models and modern mental health policy
• Commitment to person-centred, rights-based care
