Business Manager Grade VII – Health Service Executive – Galway/Roscommon

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Business Manager (Grade VII) to support the Office of the Integrated Health Area (IHA) Manager for Galway Roscommon. This permanent, wholetime post is based at Merlin Park University Hospital, Galway, and offers an opportunity to play a key role in administrative leadership within the HSE West and North West region. The role is open only to eligible internal applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day business operations within the Office of the IHA Manager
• Support strategic planning, organisational performance, and service delivery
• Coordinate administrative, governance, and reporting functions
• Lead and supervise administrative staff as required
• Manage stakeholder communications across multiple service areas
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
• Support the development and implementation of integrated care initiatives
• Oversee documentation, data collection, and operational workflow improvements

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligibility under WRC Agreement 161867 (HSE, TUSLA, Section 38, statutory health agencies)
• Previous experience in healthcare administration, business management, or public sector operations
• Strong organisational, communication, and leadership abilities
• Experience managing teams in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
• Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and support decision-making
• Thorough understanding of HSE systems, policies, and service structures
• Proven capability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade VII 0582 salary scale (per current HSE arrangements)
• Permanent wholetime contract (35 hours per week)
