The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Principal Social Worker to join the team at St Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown, Co Dublin. This permanent, whole-time position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced social work professional to lead, supervise, and contribute to high-quality patient care within the Dublin South East region. Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for the Social Work Department, ensuring high-quality and person-centred services.
• Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and service development initiatives.
• Manage and support social work staff, including supervision and professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, effective patient care.
• Support hospital management with planning, service improvement, and policy implementation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with CORU.
• Significant post-qualification experience in social work, with demonstrated leadership capability.
• Strong knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, and hospital-based social work.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead, manage teams, and contribute to strategic service development.
