The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 for the Paediatric Ward at Wexford General Hospital. This permanent, whole-time position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated nurse leader to contribute to high-quality paediatric care within the HSE Dublin and South East region. The successful candidate will support clinical governance, staff development, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coordinate, and manage nursing activities within the Paediatric Ward
• Support safe, effective, and family-centred patient care
• Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff
• Assist in workforce planning, rostering, and resource allocation
• Promote and uphold clinical standards, quality improvement, and compliance
• Participate in audits, risk management, and service evaluation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
• Contribute to policy implementation, service planning, and professional development initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN) with NMBI
• Minimum of relevant post-registration experience in paediatrics
• Demonstrated leadership and team-management capabilities
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidiscipline teams
