The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Registrar in Vascular Surgery for the January 2026 rotation at University Hospital Limerick. This fixed term, wholetime post offers an excellent opportunity for surgical registrars seeking specialist experience in a busy Mid-West region hospital. The role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality vascular surgical care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, theatre lists, and on-call duties.
• Provide timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for vascular surgery patients.
• Support the consultant team in managing elective and emergency caseloads.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior doctors and medical students.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE clinical governance, documentation, and patient-safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Minimum 2 years SHO experience.
• IELTS (minimum 7.0) or OET (minimum grade B), if applicable.
• Experience in Surgery is desirable.
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute hospital environment.

• Fixed Term Wholetime contract.
• Salary in line with the Registrar (Surgery) scale as per HSE terms and conditions.

• Full-time working hours with participation in the on-call rota.
