This permanent full-time Social Care Worker role offers an opportunity to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in the Loughrea area. Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a committed professional to join its Disability Services team within the HSE West and North West region. This position is aligned to the Social Care Worker 3029 grade and operates under Section 38 arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Promote independence, community integration, and meaningful daily activities
• Implement individual care plans and contribute to multidisciplinary service planning
• Support service users with personal care, social activities, and communication needs
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with organisational and HIQA standards
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies
• Participate in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Recognised qualification in Social Care or a relevant discipline
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of safeguarding, rights-based care, and person-centred planning
• Full clean driving licence is desirable
• Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
