The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist Candidate in Neurology Services for University Hospital Galway. This part-time specified purpose role supports nurse-led neurological care in a busy Level 4 hospital setting. The post offers an opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills within a specialist multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, timely and evidence-based nurse-led care for patients with neurological disorders
• Assess, diagnose, plan, treat and discharge patients in line with agreed policies
• Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, leadership and complex decision-making skills
• Maintain high standards of professional practice in accordance with NMBI codes and frameworks
• Contribute to nursing research, education, and policy development at local, national and international level
• Represent the diverse inpatient population within Neurology services at a Level 4 hospital
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to support best patient outcomes
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with NMBI
• Evidence of continuing professional development in neurology or related specialty
• Strong analytical, assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to the professional values of nursing and midwifery in Ireland
