The Health Service Executive (HSE) is inviting applications for a permanent Clinical Nurse Manager 1 position within the Medical Assessment Unit at Bantry General Hospital. This is a key leadership role supporting high-quality patient care across the HSE South West region. The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff within the Medical Assessment Unit
• Coordinate daily operations to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
• Maintain high standards of evidence-based nursing care
• Support quality improvement and service development initiatives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical governance standards
• Promote continuous professional development within the nursing team
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with NMBI
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Strong organisational and decision-making capabilities
• Experience working in acute or assessment-unit settings is desirable
• Commitment to patient safety, quality, and HSE values
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade Code 2127)
• Salary: As per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract type: Permanent Wholetime
