The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (COPD Outreach) for University Hospital Waterford. This specified purpose, whole-time role focuses on delivering advanced physiotherapy services within COPD outreach in the HSE Dublin and South East region.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention for patients with COPD.
• Lead the COPD outreach physiotherapy service across University Hospital Waterford.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated patient care.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to physiotherapy colleagues.
• Contribute to service development, audits, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and continuity-of-care pathways.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
• Significant post-qualification experience in respiratory physiotherapy.
• Proven ability to work autonomously at clinical specialist level.
• Experience in COPD outreach, pulmonary rehabilitation, or acute respiratory care.
• Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Physiotherapist – Clinical Specialist (Code 3707).
• Full-time specified purpose contract.
• Salary in line with HSE consolidated salary scales (effective 1 August 2025).
