Wexford General Hospital is seeking a Consultant Paediatrician to join its paediatric service on a fixed-term, part-time basis. This senior role offers an opportunity to shape high-quality child health services within the HSE Dublin and South East region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive paediatric inpatient and outpatient care
• Provide specialist clinical expertise across acute and community interfaces
• Lead paediatric service improvements and contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making
• Participate in on-call rota and emergency paediatric coverage
• Support junior medical staff through supervision, training and clinical governance
• Engage in audit, quality assurance and service development initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (Paediatrics)
• Proven experience in hospital-based paediatric medicine
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and multidisciplinary teamwork
• Eligibility to work in the HSE environment (open to HSE and non-HSE applicants)

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Contract: Fixed Term, Part-Time
Grade: Consultant Paediatrician (Code 1155)
Salary: HSE Consultant salary scale applies (per national consolidated pay scales)
• Access to HSE pension scheme, leave entitlements and additional allowances where applicable
• Part-time schedule with participation in on-call duties
