The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting an Addiction Counsellor for Sligo on a permanent, whole-time basis. This role supports community-based addiction services across the HSE West and North West Region. Applicants from both HSE and non-HSE backgrounds are welcome.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage an active counselling caseload under supervision
• Deliver evidence-based addiction counselling interventions
• Conduct assessments, care planning and ongoing reviews
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary mental health and social care teams
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records
• Promote recovery-focused, person-centred support
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy
• Eligibility for relevant professional accreditation
• Depth and breadth of post-qualification experience managing a caseload under supervision
• Knowledge of addiction treatment models and harm-reduction approaches
• Strong communication, assessment, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
