The Women’s Health Centre in Mullingar is seeking a Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Ambulatory Gynaecology) to support the delivery of innovative, patient-centred care for women across the Dublin and Midlands Health Region. This permanent whole-time post offers the opportunity to develop advanced practice competence under the National Women and Infants Health Programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of the ANP job description and required documentation under the Advanced Practice Stakeholder Governance Group.
• Undertake academic and clinical preparation to meet NMBI Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (2017).
• Participate in supervised episodes of care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, treatment, and discharge in line with agreed protocols.
• Contribute to evidence-based nurse-led care within the Ambulatory Gynaecology Unit (AGU).
• Develop clinical leadership, critical thinking and decision-making skills relevant to advanced practice.
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration across organisational boundaries.
• Engage in research, audit and data collection to advance women’s health and inform policy.
• Prepare and submit a personal Advanced Practice portfolio for NMBI RANP registration.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or Registered Midwife with the NMBI.
• Eligibility to undertake a master’s level advanced practice pathway.
• Demonstrated experience in women’s health, gynaecology, acute services or related areas.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centred care, and continuous professional development.
• Capacity to build leadership skills and progress to autonomous advanced practice following registration.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Grade: Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Candidate (General), Code 2272
Salary scale (from 1 August 2025):
€70,725 – €72,124 – €75,662 – €77,054 – €78,454 – €79,872 (6 points)

Contract: Permanent, whole-time
Working hours: 37 hours per week (standard HSE nursing hours)
