Wexford General Hospital is recruiting Children’s Staff Nurses to join its Staff Bank, offering flexible, wholetime permanent contracts within the Health Service Executive (HSE). This role supports paediatric care across acute settings in Wexford and forms part of the region’s expanded workforce under Sláintecare.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to children and families in acute settings
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in line with best practice
• Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams across paediatric services
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and standards
• Support family-centred care and promote child wellbeing
• Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives within the paediatric department
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN) with NMBI, or eligible for registration
• Strong clinical skills in paediatric nursing and acute care
• Excellent communication, empathy and family-centred approach
• Ability to work flexibly as part of the Staff Bank
• Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: Based on the HSE consolidated Staff Nurse scale (Grade 2135) — €37,288 to €55,477 per annum (1 August 2025 rates) with LSI.
Contract: Permanent Wholetime (Hours as Required via Staff Bank)
