St. Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) for the Surgical/Medical service. This internal HSE opportunity offers a key leadership role supporting high-quality patient care across a dynamic acute environment. The position is a specified purpose, whole-time contract within the HSE Dublin and South East health region.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership within the Surgical/Medical ward areas
• Support safe, evidence-based nursing practice and effective care delivery
• Coordinate staffing, skill mix, and workflow to ensure optimal service levels
• Participate in quality improvement, audit, and patient safety initiatives
• Mentor and guide nursing staff, supporting professional development
• Contribute to multidisciplinary teamwork and effective communication pathways
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, protocols, and statutory requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI
• Minimum required post-registration experience in an acute setting
• Demonstrated leadership and team coordination capability
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to lead and support change within a fast-paced clinical environment
• Eligibility to apply under WRC Agreement 161867 (HSE/TUSLA/Section 38/statutory agency employees only)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 1 salary scale (effective 1 August 2025): €56,642–€66,705
