HSE Dublin and North East is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Adult and Psychiatry of Later Life Mental Health Services for the Cavan Monaghan area. This permanent, whole-time post offers the opportunity to deliver specialist assessment, therapeutic interventions, and care planning for adults and older persons experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist nursing assessments and evidence-based interventions.
• Support multidisciplinary teams across Adult and Psychiatry of Later Life Mental Health Services.
• Lead on care planning, clinical risk assessment, and crisis management where appropriate.
• Engage in health promotion, early intervention, and recovery-oriented practice.
• Provide specialist advice, education, and support to service users, carers, and colleagues.
• Contribute to quality improvement, audit, and service development initiatives.
• Maintain nursing records, documentation, and professional compliance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health nursing, preferably within adult or later-life services.
• Evidence of postgraduate education relevant to mental health or specialist practice (or commitment to complete).
• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) salary scale (Grade 2625): €61,463–€77,666 with LSI, effective 1 August 2025
Contract: Permanent, whole-time.
Working hours: Full-time HSE standard roster.
