St Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown, is seeking a highly experienced Speech and Language Therapist Clinical Specialist to deliver advanced clinical expertise within the HSE Dublin and South East region. This is a permanent, whole-time post offering the opportunity to shape specialist assessment and intervention pathways within a dynamic acute care environment.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist SLT assessments and evidence-based interventions for complex patient presentations
• Provide advanced clinical decision-making, supporting MDT colleagues across acute and rehabilitation settings
• Lead service improvements, quality initiatives, and clinical audit projects
• Offer clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to SLT team members and students
• Contribute to interdisciplinary care planning and patient-centred treatment pathways
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with HSE standards
• Engage in ongoing professional development and specialist service development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• CORU registration (mandatory)
• Significant post-qualification experience, including specialist clinical practice
• Demonstrated expertise in complex communication and/or swallowing disorders
• Strong leadership, supervision, and service-development capability
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary settings
