Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore (MRHT) is recruiting a Maintenance Officer (Mechanical/Electrical) under the HSE for a permanent wholetime post. This Clerk of Works grade (4521) position supports the safe, efficient operation of hospital infrastructure across mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee maintenance works across mechanical and electrical systems within MRHT
• Support capital and minor project delivery in line with HSE standards
• Ensure all works comply with safety, building, and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with contractors, engineering teams, and hospital management
• Monitor, inspect, and report on works carried out to ensure quality and compliance
• Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and project records
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues impacting clinical and support services
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant mechanical/electrical trade or technical background
• Proven depth and breadth of experience in building services or healthcare maintenance
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Demonstrated ability to supervise works and manage contractors
• Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation
• Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy acute hospital setting
