Cork University Hospital is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Vascular (CNS) to join its specialist service within the HSE South West region. This permanent, whole-time post offers the opportunity to lead high-impact vascular care and contribute to service development in a fast-paced acute setting. This Clinical Nurse Specialist Vascular role supports advanced practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist vascular nursing assessments and evidence-based interventions
• Coordinate care pathways for vascular patients across acute and community settings
• Provide clinical expertise, patient/family education, and risk-reduction guidance
• Collaborate closely with vascular surgeons, medical teams, and allied health professionals
• Lead audits, quality-improvement initiatives, and service-development projects
• Act as an expert resource for nursing staff, mentoring and supporting best practice
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in case reviews
• Contribute to policy updates, research activity, and service evaluation
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with NMBI active registration
• Minimum required post-registration experience as outlined in the job specification
• Postgraduate qualification in a vascular-related specialty (or willingness to undertake)
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical decision-making and complex patient care
• Strong communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Familiarity with HSE clinical governance, quality, and safety frameworks
