An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Medical Oncologist Waterford role at University Hospital Waterford, part of the HSE Dublin and South East region. This is a permanent, whole-time consultant post (37 hours per week) offering the chance to deliver specialist oncology care within a leading regional hospital serving the South East.

The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is suited to an experienced consultant seeking a long-term leadership and clinical role in a growing oncology service.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-level medical oncology services to patients attending University Hospital Waterford
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary cancer care teams
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of oncology patients
• Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
• Support teaching, supervision, and mentoring of NCHDs and other clinical staff
• Participate in audit, research, and continuing professional development activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland in Medical Oncology (or eligibility to be registered)
• Significant consultant-level experience in medical oncology
• Demonstrated expertise in multidisciplinary cancer care
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development, audit, and research
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Consultant Medical Oncologist salary scales and national consultant contract
• Permanent whole-time contract
