This Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist Mullingar role offers an excellent opportunity to join HSE Dublin and Midlands on a 0.5 WTE specified purpose contract. Based in Mullingar, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of high-quality general adult mental health services within Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO) 8.

This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is ideally suited to an experienced consultant seeking flexibility while maintaining clinical leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-level psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults
• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary mental health teams
• Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, and recovery-focused care
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development
• Supervise and support NCHDs and other clinical staff
• Engage with community services, primary care, and voluntary agencies
• Contribute to on-call and service cover arrangements as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland (Psychiatry)
• Fellowship or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification
• Demonstrated experience in General Adult Psychiatry
• Strong leadership, clinical governance, and communication skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Consultant Psychiatrist salary scales (pro-rata for 0.5 WTE)
