Job Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Care Assistant (Disability Services) within HSE Dublin & South East, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities across regional residential and community services. Successful candidates will join Damien House Regional Services – Re Nua Our Lady’s Campus, Cashel, and Damien House Services, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, delivering person-centred care in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support service users with daily living activities in line with individual care plans
• Promote dignity, independence, and choice for people with disabilities
• Assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and social activities
• Escort service users to appointments and community engagements
• Maintain accurate records and report changes in service user needs
• Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health, and support teams
• Adhere to HSE policies, safeguarding, and infection control standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support / Care Skills (or equivalent) – essential
• Experience working with people with intellectual or physical disabilities – desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
• Full unendorsed Irish manual driving licence (Category B) held for a minimum of 2 years
• Availability to drive HSE vehicles as required
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Care Assistant (Disability Services), Grade 6482 (effective from 1 August 2025)
• Hours: Wholetime positions (full-time); part-time opportunities may arise from panel
