This senior clinical role is ideal for an experienced midwife with strong management capability who is passionate about delivering high-quality, woman-centred care within an acute hospital setting.

This is a permanent whole-time position within the HSE Dublin and Midlands health region, open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and professional leadership within the Outpatients Department
• Manage and coordinate midwifery services to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based care
• Support and supervise midwifery staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional development
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, national standards, and clinical governance frameworks
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and audit activity
• Contribute to service planning, rostering, and resource management
• Act as a role model for best practice in midwifery care
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Midwife on the NMBI Register
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of post-registration experience in the midwifery profession
• Proven leadership and people-management experience at senior clinical level
• Evidence of up-to-date training and participation in:
• Foetal Heart Rate Monitoring
• PROMPT
• Neonatal Resuscitation Programme
• Infant Feeding Programme
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale (Clinical Midwife Manager 2 – Grade 2132):
€61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI applicable), in line with HSE consolidated pay scales (effective 1 August 2025)
