An excellent senior medical opportunity is available for a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join Adult Mental Health Services in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. This high-impact consultant role offers clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist psychiatric care across the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.

This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides the opportunity to shape and enhance community-based mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-led psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health care within community services
• Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Participate in service planning, governance, and quality improvement initiatives
• Supervise and support NCHDs and other clinical staff
• Contribute to on-call and rota commitments as required
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, clinical governance, and Mental Health legislation
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council (Psychiatry – General Adult)
• Extensive experience in General Adult Psychiatry
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication abilities
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary: In line with HSE Consultant Psychiatrist salary scales (Department of Health consolidated pay scales, effective August 2025)
