An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 / Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Children with Life-Limiting Conditions in Mullingar. This senior nursing role plays a pivotal part in coordinating and managing high-quality, family-centred care for children with complex and life-limiting conditions across the region.
This position offers experienced nurses the opportunity to provide strong clinical leadership, influence service planning, and drive excellence in paediatric palliative and complex care within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coordinate, and manage clinical services for children with life-limiting conditions
• Provide professional, clinical, and operational leadership within the service
• Ensure high standards of quality assurance and clinical governance
• Manage staffing resources, rostering, and workforce planning
• Support staff development, education, and performance management
• Facilitate effective communication across multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to service planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement
• Advocate for children and families to ensure holistic, compassionate care
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse (RNID/RGN/RSCN as appropriate) with NMBI registration
• Significant post-registration nursing experience
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience at senior nurse level
• Experience working with children with complex or life-limiting conditions (desirable)
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 payscale (Grade 2119)
– €61,463 to €77,666 per annum (inclusive of increments, subject to HSE terms)
