The Health Service Executive (HSE) is currently seeking applications for a Catering Officer Grade III position in Sligo. Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and support catering staff in the preparation and service of meals
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety legislation
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food quality
• Assist in menu planning and special dietary requirements
• Monitor stock levels, food storage, and waste control
• Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives
• Liaise with catering management and other hospital departments
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience working in a HACCP-controlled environment
• Previous experience in catering operations, ideally within healthcare or large-scale food services
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, safety, and allergen control
• Ability to supervise staff and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Relevant food safety or catering qualifications (desirable)
