Sligo University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Skills Facilitator (Clinical Nurse Manager 2) to support and enhance clinical education within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This Clinical Skills Facilitator Sligo role is ideal for a senior ICU nurse with a strong interest in education, governance, and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate and coordinate clinical skills education and competency development within ICU
• Support nursing staff through mentorship, supervision, and practice development
• Lead and support implementation of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines
• Promote high standards of patient safety, quality care, and clinical governance
• Collaborate with CNM teams, educators, and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
• Support induction, ongoing training, and professional development of nursing staff
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Significant post-registration ICU nursing experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience at CNM1/CNM2 level or equivalent
• Qualification or experience in clinical education, training, or practice development
• Strong communication, organisational, and mentoring skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary:
• Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119)
• €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (HSE consolidated pay scale, effective August 2025)
