An exciting senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Director of Nursing 2 – Assistant (Acute) at Kilcreene Regional Orthopaedic Hospital. This pivotal role supports the Director of Nursing in providing strategic, clinical, and operational leadership within a specialist acute orthopaedic setting, contributing to high-quality, safe, and patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the Director of Nursing in the strategic planning and operational management of nursing and midwifery services
• Provide professional leadership to nursing teams across acute orthopaedic services
• Ensure governance, quality, and patient safety standards are met and continuously improved
• Lead workforce planning, staff development, and performance management initiatives
• Contribute to service improvement, innovation, and change management programmes
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication across clinical teams
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, national standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the NMBI Register (Nurses Division)
• Significant post-registration nursing experience, including leadership at senior management level
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing, healthcare management, or leadership
• Proven experience in acute hospital settings
• Strong strategic, operational, and people management skills
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety

• Annual salary range applies in accordance with public sector pay policy (effective 1 August 2025)
