An exciting senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Grade VII Research Manager within HSE South West. This pivotal role will support and drive the regional research agenda, working closely with clinical leaders, academic partners, and governance teams to strengthen high-quality, ethical health research across Cork and the wider South West region.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate research governance, compliance, and approval processes
• Support development and delivery of the HSE South West research strategy
• Manage research programmes, funding applications, and reporting requirements
• Liaise with academic institutions and external research partners
• Provide expert advice on research ethics, data protection, and regulatory frameworks
• Prepare reports and briefings for senior management and stakeholders
• Contribute to policy development and continuous service improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience
• Significant experience in research management, governance, or healthcare administration
• Strong knowledge of research ethics, regulatory compliance, and data protection
• Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational abilities
• Experience working within the Irish public health or academic research sector (desirable)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Grade VII consolidated pay scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract: Permanent, whole-time
