An exciting leadership opportunity is available for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) in the Paediatric Assessment Unit at Cork University Hospital. This senior nursing role combines clinical excellence with people management, quality improvement, and service leadership within a fast-paced paediatric environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership within the Paediatric Assessment Unit
• Manage and support nursing staff to deliver safe, high-quality, child-centred care
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, clinical governance, and best practice standards
• Coordinate patient flow, admissions, and discharges within the unit
• Support audit, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives
• Act as a clinical role model and mentor to nursing staff
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the NMBI Register as a General Nurse (or relevant paediatric qualification)
• Minimum post-registration experience as outlined in the official Job Specification
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills
• Strong clinical knowledge in paediatric or acute care settings
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale (CNM1 – Grade 2127, effective 1 August 2025):
• €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (8-point scale, subject to increments and HSE terms)
