Job Overview
Sligo University Hospital is inviting applications for a Radiographer Clinical Specialist (General) to join its diagnostic imaging service. This senior specialist role offers an opportunity to demonstrate advanced expertise in general radiography while contributing to service development, clinical leadership, and high-quality patient care within the HSE West and North West region.
This is a permanent, whole-time post open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver advanced clinical practice in general radiography
• Provide expert imaging services in line with best practice and radiation safety standards
• Support and mentor radiography staff and students
• Participate in service planning, quality improvement, and audit activities
• Contribute to multidisciplinary teamwork within Sligo University Hospital
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical governance requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Radiographer
• Significant post-qualification experience in general radiography
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of clinical expertise relevant to a Clinical Specialist role
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience in service development, audit, or quality improvement is desirable
