Job Overview
This Clinical Midwife Manager 2 Mullingar role offers an exciting leadership opportunity within the maternity services at Regional Hospital Mullingar. The post holder will play a pivotal role in service planning, clinical governance, and the management of midwifery resources while ensuring the highest standards of patient-centred care and safety.
This is a specified purpose, part-time position open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, ideal for experienced midwives seeking a senior leadership role within a supportive acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate midwifery services within the assigned clinical area
• Ensure high standards of patient-centred care, safety, and quality assurance
• Manage staffing levels, rosters, and resource allocation
• Support staff development, education, and professional practice
• Lead guideline development, review, and implementation
• Participate in audit, data collection, and service evaluation
• Promote effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Provide professional and clinical leadership within the maternity service
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Midwife on the NMBI Register
• Significant post-registration midwifery experience
• Demonstrated leadership and management capability
• Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality assurance
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Experience in audit, practice development, and service improvement
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale:
Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Grade 2132) – HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (pro-rata, depending on point on scale)
