Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Community Facilitator (Intellectual Disability) to join Brothers of Charity Services Ireland in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon. This role supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives within their communities, promoting independence, dignity, and personal development.
This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is advertised under Section 38 arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate person-centred supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Promote community inclusion, social participation, and independent living skills
• Support service users in achieving personal goals and outcomes
• Lead and supervise staff and activities within community-based settings
• Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
• Work collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies
• Contribute to service development and continuous quality improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or a related discipline
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
• Demonstrated leadership or senior-level experience in a care or community setting
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to person-centred values and community inclusion
• Full driving licence is typically required for community-based roles
