This Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist (Urology) role at Connolly Hospital Dublin offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to progress into a specialist urology post within a major acute teaching hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary urology team while undertaking structured development towards full Clinical Nurse Specialist status.
A panel may be formed to fill current and future permanent or specified-purpose vacancies, full-time or part-time, within the HSE Dublin and North East region.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to urology patients
• Support assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Participate in outpatient clinics, nurse-led services, and patient education
• Collaborate with consultants, registrars, and allied health professionals
• Contribute to clinical audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and data collection
• Engage in continuous professional development towards CNS accreditation
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the NMBI Register (General Division)
• Minimum post-registration clinical experience (as per CNS Candidate criteria)
• Demonstrated interest and experience in urology nursing (desirable)
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Commitment to professional development and postgraduate education
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
