This Medical Scientist (Blood Transfusion & Haematology) role at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown offers an excellent opportunity to work within a modern acute hospital laboratory service, supporting high-quality diagnostic care across the Dublin North and East region. The position is permanent, whole-time and open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic laboratory testing in Blood Transfusion and Haematology
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, HIQA, and HSE laboratory policies
• Participate in quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to safe transfusion practices and haemovigilance reporting
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Support training and supervision of students and junior staff
• Maintain accurate records and laboratory information systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Medical Scientist (or eligibility to register)
• BSc (Hons) in Medical Science or equivalent approved qualification
• Demonstrated competence in Blood Transfusion and Haematology
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• Commitment to patient safety, quality, and professional development
• Experience in an acute hospital laboratory is desirable

• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
