Job Overview
Galway University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) to provide clinical and professional leadership within the Scheduled Care Outpatient Department. This senior nursing role offers the opportunity to shape high-quality patient pathways, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive service improvements in a busy acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide visible clinical leadership and operational management within the outpatient department
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based nursing care
• Manage and develop nursing staff through supervision, appraisal, and education
• Support service planning, quality improvement, and audit initiatives
• Promote a culture of patient-centred care and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the NMBI Register
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of post-registration nursing experience in Medical Nursing
• Proven leadership and people-management skills
• Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality standards
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale (CNM2 – Grade 2119): approximately €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (subject to increments and LSI, in line with national HSE pay scales effective August 2025)
• Permanent, wholetime contract
