An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) within the Scheduled Care Outpatient Department at Galway University Hospitals. This permanent, whole-time role is ideal for an experienced nurse leader seeking to influence high-quality outpatient services within a busy acute hospital environment.
This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers the opportunity to work within a progressive multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage nursing services within the Scheduled Care Outpatient Department
• Ensure high standards of clinical governance, quality, and patient safety
• Support, supervise, and develop nursing staff through effective leadership
• Manage rostering, resources, and service delivery in line with operational needs
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to enhance patient pathways
• Contribute to audit, risk management, and policy implementation
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the NMBI Register (relevant division)
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of post-registration experience in Medical Nursing
• Proven leadership and management experience at CNM1 level or equivalent
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Experience in outpatient or scheduled care settings is desirable
• Commitment to professional development and quality improvement
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Code 2119)
• Salary Scale (Aug 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI applicable)
