Job Overview

This Social Care Worker (Intellectual Disability) role offers an opportunity to support adults with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives within their local communities. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred care across residential and community-based services in County Roscommon.


Key Responsibilities

• Support individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve personal goals and independence
• Deliver person-centred care plans in line with HIQA standards
• Promote dignity, choice, safeguarding, and community inclusion
• Assist with daily living activities, social engagement, and life skills development
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning reviews
• Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals
• Participate in training, supervision, and continuous professional development


Required Skills & Qualifications

• QQI Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline
• CORU registration (or eligibility to register) as a Social Care Worker
• Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities (desirable)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
• Commitment to person-centred practice and safeguarding
• Full clean driving licence (desirable)
