Mayo University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 1 to lead nursing services within D Ward, supporting the Peri-Operative Directorate. This leadership role is ideal for a senior nurse with strong clinical governance experience and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

The post holder will play a key role in service delivery, staff leadership, and continuous improvement within a dynamic acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff within D Ward
• Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care delivery
• Support implementation of clinical governance and quality standards
• Manage staffing, rostering, and skill mix to meet service demands
• Promote staff development, education, and performance management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Peri-Operative Directorate
• Contribute to service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum of 5 years post-registration nursing experience
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in a Peri-Operative setting
• Proven leadership and people-management skills
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary Scale (CNM1 – 1 Aug 2025): €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (pro-rata if applicable)
