Mayo University Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit on a permanent wholetime basis. This is a key clinical role providing high-quality, patient-centred care within a critical care environment, supporting patients with complex and acute needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately
• Administer medications and treatments in line with ICU protocols
• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary ICU team
• Support patients’ families with clear communication and compassion
• Adhere to HSE policies, infection control, and clinical governance standards
• Participate in continuous professional development and service improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a General Nurse on the NMBI register
• Eligibility to work in Ireland under HSE employment terms
• Experience or interest in critical care nursing is desirable
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Staff Nurse (General) pay scale
• Contract: Permanent Wholetime

• Shift work as per ICU roster requirements
