Kerry Mental Health Services is seeking a Senior House Officer / Registrar in General Adult Psychiatry to join its multidisciplinary teams across County Kerry. This is a fixed-term, whole-time post offering structured supervision, broad clinical exposure, and excellent training opportunities within the HSE South West region.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality psychiatric assessment and treatment to adult service users
• Participate in inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health services
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, psychologists, and allied professionals
• Contribute to on-call and rota commitments in line with service needs
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports
• Engage in clinical governance, audit, and service improvement activities
• Support teaching and supervision of junior medical staff where appropriate
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Experience or training in General Adult Psychiatry
• Eligibility to work in Ireland (HSE and non-HSE applicants welcome)
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Registrar (1538) / Senior House Officer
• Salary (Registrar scale, Aug 2025): €68,891 – €81,126 per annum (point dependent)
• Contract: Fixed Term, Wholetime
