Public Health Nurse (PHN) – HSE Dublin & North East

The Health Service Executive Dublin and North East is recruiting Public Health Nurses (PHN) to deliver high-quality community and population health services. These roles play a vital part in health promotion, disease prevention, and supporting individuals, families, and communities across the region.

A number of permanent whole-time and permanent part-time positions are available across multiple locations in the Dublin and North East Regional Health Area.


Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based public health nursing services within the community
• Promote health, wellbeing, and disease prevention across the lifespan
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programmes for individuals and families
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and interagency teams
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in line with HSE policies
• Participate in health surveillance, screening, and child health programmes
• Support safeguarding and protection of vulnerable populations


Requirements

• Be registered in the Public Health Nurse division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Hold the required postgraduate qualification in Public Health Nursing
• Demonstrate competence in community-based nursing practice
• Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical decision-making skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Public Health Nurse Grade (revised 1 August 2025)
