An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT 8) covering East Galway and South Roscommon. This permanent, whole-time role is based at St Brendan’s Campus, Loughrea, and focuses on delivering high-quality, family-centred occupational therapy services to children with complex needs. This role suits an experienced clinician who thrives in multidisciplinary team environments and diverse service settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and families
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Children’s Disability Network Team
• Support children with complex developmental, physical, or sensory needs
• Contribute to service planning, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
• Supervise and support junior staff and students as required
• Engage with families, carers, and external stakeholders to ensure integrated care
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in line with HSE standards

Requirements

• Qualification recognised by CORU as an Occupational Therapist
• Registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience working with children and families
OR experience supporting individuals with complex needs
• Proven ability to work across a variety of clinical and community settings
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills

• Grade: Occupational Therapist – Senior (3301)
• Salary in line with HSE consolidated pay scales (effective 1 August 2025)

This post is based at St Brendan’s Campus, Lake Road, Loughrea, Co. Galway, serving CDNT 8 East Galway & South Roscommon. A supplementary panel may be formed to fill future permanent or specified-purpose vacancies across Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon within HSE West and North West Community Services.
