Kerry Mental Health Services is seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join its General Support team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for service users, staff, and visitors across mental health facilities in County Kerry.

This opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers stable, long-term employment within the public health service.


Key Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties in accordance with hygiene and infection control standards
• Maintain cleanliness of wards, offices, communal areas, and sanitary facilities
• Safely handle and store cleaning materials and equipment
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with housekeeping and healthcare teams
• Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor
• Support a respectful and therapeutic care environment


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Reliability, flexibility, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential


Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Grade: Domestic 4110 (General Support)
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025)
• Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime and Specified Purpose Wholetime
