Naas General Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Diabetes to deliver expert, evidence-based care to patients across acute and community pathways. This role offers an opportunity to lead specialist diabetes nursing practice, support multidisciplinary teams, and improve patient outcomes within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region. The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist nursing care to patients with diabetes across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Lead and support diabetes education for patients, families, and carers
• Act as a clinical expert resource for nursing, medical, and allied health colleagues
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of diabetes care pathways
• Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
• Support staff education and ongoing professional development in diabetes care
• Ensure care delivery aligns with HSE policies, clinical guidelines, and best practice
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience in the specialist area of diabetes
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in diabetes care or commitment to same
• Strong clinical leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development

• Salary: In line with HSE Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) Grade 2632 consolidated salary scales (effective 1 August 2025)
