Bantry General Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Medical) to provide professional and clinical leadership within the Medical Unit. This permanent, whole-time post offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a respected acute hospital setting in West Cork.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff within the Medical Unit
• Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care
• Manage staff rostering, allocation of resources, and day-to-day unit operations
• Support and mentor nursing staff, including performance management and development
• Promote continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards, and professional guidelines
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and senior nursing management
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the Nurses and Midwives Register of Ireland (NMBI) as a General Nurse
• Minimum post-registration clinical experience as per HSE requirements
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience at senior staff nurse or equivalent level
• Strong clinical knowledge in acute medical nursing
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale (CNM1 – Grade 2127): €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (based on HSE consolidated pay scales effective 1 August 2025)
