Mallow General Hospital is seeking an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist (Pharmacotherapy) to provide expert clinical pharmacy services across inpatient and outpatient settings. This senior role plays a key part in optimising medicines use, improving patient outcomes, and supporting multidisciplinary clinical teams within a busy acute hospital environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced specialist clinical pharmacy services in pharmacotherapy
• Lead and support medicines optimisation initiatives and governance
• Provide expert advice on complex medication regimens
• Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and clinical decision-making
• Support education and training of pharmacy and healthcare staff
• Contribute to audit, research, and quality improvement programmes
• Ensure compliance with national policies, guidelines, and legislation


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
• Recognised postgraduate qualification relevant to pharmacotherapy
• Significant post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
• Demonstrated advanced clinical competence in pharmacotherapy
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland


Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Advanced Specialist Pharmacist Grade 3250
• Incremental salary progression in accordance with public service pay policy
• Permanent, whole-time contract
