Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda is seeking a Clinical Placement Coordinator (Midwifery) to guide and support student midwives across pre-registration and post-registration programmes. This permanent, part-time role is central to ensuring high-quality clinical learning experiences aligned with educational requirements and professional standards.
Working closely with the Midwifery Practice Development Department, you will support learning in diverse clinical environments, including settings beyond the parent hospital, while collaborating with multidisciplinary education teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and guide student midwives in assigned clinical placement areas
• Ensure clinical placements meet programme learning outcomes and planned experiences
• Work collaboratively with the Midwifery Practice Development Department
• Liaise with educators, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams across the continuum of midwifery education
• Facilitate effective learning environments in hospital and external clinical settings
• Provide professional support and guidance to staff involved in student supervision
• Contribute to quality improvement in clinical education delivery
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Relevant post-registration midwifery experience
• Experience in clinical education, supervision, or practice development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to professional standards, education quality, and continuous improvement

• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract: Permanent, part-time
